What is the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International?

In 1969, the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH International, formerly NAHRA) was formed by a group of individuals who recognized the need for safety standards and a community of like-minded and like-spirited professionals. PATH Intl. is committed to being a global authority, resource and advocate for EAAT (Equine-Assisted Activities & Therapies) that inspire and enrich the human spirit.

PATH Intl. celebrates ability, optimism, diversity and a shared love of equines. It is an international voice of the EAAT industry. As the premier professional membership organization, PATH Intl. establishes and oversees standards for the accreditation of centers and the certification of instructors and equine specialists. More than 7,500 individual members and 6,300 equines throughout the world at more that 850 PATH Intl. member centers help change and enrich the lives of nearly 55,000 children and adults each year.
